My religion preached oneness.
My religion preached humanity.
My religion preached respect for others.
But the oldest religion on this planet has died.
Its now only in the books, in the titles of names of its followers, in the fake and costly temples constructed in its name. It was fiest hijacked by some zealots who called them as the caretakers of the religion and then they cajoled most of the community to believe in them. It had begun a long time back and the most recent one happened in Orissa. The hunger for power and to polarise people has made them mock religion. They only have one thing on mind- killing others to satisfy their Gods. They have never met Him and yet take his orders. They don't even understand the meaning of religion. I have never read or heard in any religious book that Rama wanted his followers to rape women who didn't follow his religion. He didn't even touch the women of Lanka, the place where His wife was captured by the men of the same women. These men have gone insane but thats not the reason for me being ashmaed of my religion, for losing my religion. The reason for me being so is that the so-called litterati support this and would go out in support enmasse for such culprits. Perhaps, its time we read some Vedas oursleves and decide what Hinduism stands for.
